I respectfully disagree with your description of my comments as hypocritical, especially since I can cite blog entries where I didn’t care for him before I stopped watching the show. When he first auditioned, I was rooting for him. It just became more and more manipulative.

I agree the Aerosmith cover sucked, but to be so opinionated about a guy when you didn’t even watch Idol is sorta…hypocritical? Don’t get me wrong, I liked him early on, but he was not my fave when the finalists were chosen. And the Idol producers are the ones to blame for the sympathy factor. Yeah, we all got sick of it, and it finally stopped, but how much of that actually originated Gokey?

That being said, I don’t like this single either.

THANK YOU! He irritated me from the start. I get that they like to paint the sympathy card to create a backstory/interest/profile/whathaveyou so you can distinguish between the now sheer thousands of ‘Idol’ contestants, but the fact that he kept using his wife’s death felt fake and unfair to me.

Plus his Aerosmith cover was earsplitting and you. just. don’t. do. that. damnit.
