Two country-pop videos for you today. Video number one is a bonafide hit with a bizarre video to accompany it, courtesy of Carrie Underwood. She’s heading for the top of the country chart in no time at all, but honestly, what does this video have to do with a “Cowboy Casanova”?

On a much more classy note, here is the newest video from Sugarland’s Life on the Inside entitled “Keep You”. The song follows in the footsteps of their massive hit “Stay” with a slow burn, but the video has a strong impact for a such a simple premise. One more example of how the right song combined with the right video can be magic.
Oh no! Neither video available in my country. How rude
Ah well, i tried 🙂
I NEED to buy a Sugarland album–Jennifer Nettles must be one of the most appealing frontpeople in music at the moment.
I’m not sure why, but I never fell for Carrie’s “Before He Cheats” and much as I’d like to like “Cowboy Casanova” (loved Carrie on Idol, really like elements like the “oh woah”s, etc.), it looks like it’s heading down the same road of “fine” for me (I strangely really liked “Last Name,” though, which was certainly made with the intent to follow up BHC). LOVE Miranda Lambert’s “Gunpowder & Lead,” though–not sure whether it’s the voice or the song that makes the difference for me in that case.
Anyway, yeah, Carrie’s video has less to do with her song’s lyrics than I expected–more of a dress up opportunity. The man with the hat was never really developed.
Taylor Swift FTW! lol
John, i love how u love country and pop, sometimes i wish u had grown up in kilkenny, ireland!
