  2. Amen, John! Atlanta has NO brick-and-mortar record stores and used music stores and getting few and far between, so if you live in a city with a store, you need to support them!

  3. we only have HMV left in Britain and the odd indie stores. quite sad really though god knows when i bought a physical cd last from one of them – amazon is always cheaper, so in a way i’m partially to blame. *hangs head in shame*

  5. ::sigh:: Downer.

    I totally agree – visiting a physical music store is a experience that is borderline euphoric for audiophiles like us, especially super big stores like Virgin. It makes me cry whenever I visit Times Square because I know such a major fixture in the landscape will be closing. And soon. I have so many good memories from that store. Is that weird to say? It’s where I first found a Girls Aloud CD, where I was finally able to purchase a Dragonette CD, where I got my Kylie Minogue import…crucial. Grrr…

  6. Bummer! I have a feeling they will all be gone before the end of the year. Suckage! The one in Orlando is always packed, but should it ever close down, there will be a huge void in my musical world.

  7. From the title I thought this was going to be about your sex life.

    Physical CD sales in Australia are still quite strong and my local mall has 3 different music stores. It seems to be the smaller, independent retailers that are vanishing over here.

  8. Mike, only if you haven’t given it up yet…

    Yuri, see my newest entry.

    ww, I suppose you’re right.

    Mel, Kylie and Virgin will always be joined at the hip in my mind.

    Paul, I blame you personally.

    Buck, we’ve had this conversation before. I feel ya, man.
